Regulations
All foreign players without FIDE rating have to show proof of their national ratings. FIDE and FSI ratings changes and achievements follow current FIDE and FSI handbooks.
OPEN A: ELO higher than 1999
OPEN B: ELO lower than 2000
OPEN C: ELO lower than 1600
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept up to 10 wild cards per open for those players who hold an insufficient ELO. Requests to be registered in a tournament other than a direct assignment tournament must mandatorily be submitted via email.
The time tolerance is 60 minutes.
Prizes will only be paid through bank transfer according to local tax laws. By not participating in the prize-giving ceremony, players authorize the organizing committee NOT to pay the prize won.
Smoking electronic cigarettes is not allowed in game halls nor throughout the hotel premises, except for its outdoor terraces. The use of mobile phones, tablets, or any other electronic device that could be used to provide any type of chess help to the players in the rooms and throughout the game area, as well as in any other designated area, is prohibited during the game. Mobile phones or other devices will not be allowed unless they are inside a backpack or bag, they are turned off and remain so for the duration of the game. The player will authorize the arbiters to check that his device is turned off in case of any doubt on this point. The Organization of the Festival will not be responsible for players' phones or other devices.
System and rate
All tournaments (A, B, and C) are composed of 9 rounds.Time control is 90' for the first 40 moves + 30' to finish the game + 30'' starting from the first move.
The pairing system used is the Swiss.
Tiebreaks at the end of the tournament will follow this order: Buchholz Total, Buchholz Cut 1, Sonneborg - Berger, ARO (Average Rating of Opponents).
Half-point bye will be assigned according to the Italian Chess Federation Technical Regulations.
Registration
Players can register to the tournament by hoosing to stay at the official hotel (please refer to the table under the accommodation paragraph), or just by paying an entry fee whose cost is calculated as follows:- Registration by March 31st 100 €

The venue
The tournament will be held at the Club Hotel Marina Beach 4* in Orosei and rooms will be available for players and their accompanying people.
Club Hotel Marina Beach is the perfect destination for a pleasant holiday in Sardinia, where you can enjoy the food, and the beach and do some sport in the most enchanting Gulf of the island. Only a few meters from the Hotel is the golden beach of Marina di Orosei with its crystal-clear seawater, where you will have the possibility to go scuba diving, do water sports, and walk along the seashore.
Accommodation
The 497 rooms of the Club Hotel Marina Beach are located in two different buildings called the “Beach”, and the “Garden”. This is the perfect place for all your needs and the ideal solution for big families.
Players
The participation fee for players includes tournament registration, welcome bag, full-board accommodation, attendance at the opening and closing ceremonies, transportation from/to Olbia International Airport, and a refundable policy in case of non-participation (if communicated by March 31st; penalties apply for cancellations after this date, with a 50% penalty).

The participation fee for accompanying guests covers a welcome bag, full-board accommodation, attendance at the opening and closing ceremonies, transportation from/to Olbia International Airport, and a refundable policy in case of non-participation (if communicated by March 31st; penalties apply for cancellations after this date, with a 50% penalty).
It is important to note that participants and accompanying guests requiring an entry visa to Italy are requested to stay at the venue where the tournament will take place.

The above rates are for stays from dinner on April 27 to lunch on May 4. Additional nights can be booked to arrive before/ leave after the tournament's official dates.
The above-mentioned prices include:
- Entry fee (registration to the tournament)
- Full board accommodation starts with dinner on the arrival day (April 27) till lunch on the departure day (May 4)
Lunches and dinners, served as an assisted buffet in a reserved area with menus of appetizers, first and second courses, side dishes, fruit, and dessert; - Drinks at meals included (mineral water, house red/white wine, and draft beer);
- Free use of sports and recreational facilities;
- Beach equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds;
- Evening Piano Bar.

How to reach?
The Organizing Committee will provide an airport shuttle service (to be booked when registering) from Olbia International Airport at the price of 25 € per way if not staying at the official hotel, those who will stay at the official hotel will have the airport shuttle included in the participation fee.
In any case, people willing to use this service will be grouped based on their arrival timing and vehicle availability. When booking the shuttle, if needed, it is also mandatory to mention the departure time (on May 4th), the Organizing Committee won’t be responsible for any miscommunication after the registration deadline (March 31st).

Technical Director of major national and international tournaments and the only FST in Italy, GM Roberto Mogranzini will direct the event, putting his experience at the disposal of the players and their companions.
